# How to Install & Use PushBack | SpinZ CZ

PushBack quick-start guide

## Install. Activate. Make your first move.

Your download, your serial, your first preset. Start with the computer you use.

01 · Install

### Which computer are you using?

Download PushBack from [**My Account**](https://spinzcz.com/my) and close your DAW before installing.

#### Installing on Mac

macOS

1. **Open your PushBack download.**

  Open the installer inside and follow the steps.
2. **If Mac blocks it, try opening it once.**

  PushBack is an unsigned Early Access installer. Trying to open it makes the Open Anyway option appear.
3. **Open System Settings → Privacy & Security.**

  Scroll down to Security and click **Open Anyway**. Return to the installer and open it again.
4. **Finish installing, then open your DAW.**

  If PushBack is missing, restart the DAW and run its plug-in rescan.

#### Installing on Windows

Windows

**Keep Windows Security and your antivirus turned on.**

PushBack is an unsigned Early Access installer, so Windows cannot yet verify its publisher. Microsoft Defender SmartScreen may therefore show “Windows protected your PC” or “Unknown publisher.” This reputation warning alone does not mean the installer is a virus.

1. **Open your PushBack download.**

  Start the installer and follow the steps.
2. **If SmartScreen shows a blue warning, choose More info.**

  Choose **Run anyway** only when the installer came directly from your SpinZ CZ My Account.
3. **If your antivirus reports a Trojan, stop.**

  Do not disable protection, restore the file or continue installing. 4. **Finish the installation.**

  You do not need to choose a special folder.
5. **Open your DAW.**

  If PushBack is missing, restart the DAW and run its plug-in rescan.

02 · Activate

### Use the serial in My Account.

Keep your computer online for this first activation. You only need the PushBack serial connected to your purchase.

1. **Open PushBack inside your DAW.**

  The activation screen appears the first time.
2. **Open My Account and copy your serial.**

  It starts with **PBK1-**. Keep the full serial private.
3. **Paste it and press Activate PushBack.**

  When activation finishes, PushBack opens in its Original state.

03 · Your first result

### Start with the preset that matches the problem.

Put PushBack on the drum or loop you want to change. Press play and choose the closest starting point.

#### Preset first. Fine-tune only if you need to.

1. **Choose what sounds closest.**

  Try Back — Gentle, Back — Tight, More Punch, Bigger Body or a style-based preset.
2. **Turn Placement.**

  **Back** softens the first hit so it sits farther back. **Front** adds attack and brings it closer.
3. **Use Punch and Body for small changes.**

  Punch changes the first hit. Body changes the sound after it.
4. **Compare at the same loudness.**

  Leave Level Match on while deciding whether the change is better.

**The fast route**

A good preset may be all you need. You can still change every knob manually.

04 · Controls

### Every control has one clear job.

Start with Preset and Placement. The other controls are there only when you want a more specific result.

  **Preset**

  Loads a ready-made starting point for a common beat problem.
2. *02*

  **Placement**

  Back softens the first hit. Front adds attack and brings it closer.
3. *03*

  **Punch**

  Changes how strongly the first hit lands.
4. *04*

  **Body**

  Changes the tail and weight after the first hit.
5. *05*

  **Mix**

  Blends the original sound with the PushBack result.
6. *06*

  **Output**

  Changes the level of the processed sound before Mix blends it with the original.
7. *07*

  **Start Over**

  Returns every control to the untouched Original state.
8. *08*

  **Undo and Redo**

  Step backward or forward through your latest changes.
9. *09*

  **Settings**

  Shows the serial currently used on this computer.

**Level Match** Keeps before and after closer in loudness for a fair comparison.

**Peak Guard** Catches peaks in the processed sound. Leave room on your channel meter when blending with the original.

**Keep Low Punch** Helps the kick and low-end weight stay strong.

05 · Quick fixes

### If something feels wrong, start here.

**PushBack does not appear in my DAW.**

Close and reopen the DAW. Run its plug-in rescan, then search for **PushBack** under **SpinZ CZ**.

**PushBack is silent.**

Connect to the internet and finish activation with your PBK1 serial. Also check that the track is not muted.

**I barely hear a change.**

Keep Mix at 100%, choose a stronger preset, then move Placement farther toward Back or Front.

**The kick lost too much weight.**

Turn on Keep Low Punch. You can also use less Placement or add a little Body.

**I want to remove every change.**

Press Start Over. PushBack returns to Original immediately.

**Why does Placement sound different after updating?**

Version 1.3 corrects the Front / Back direction: Back now softens attack and Front adds attack. Saved knob positions stay where you left them, so audition older sessions and adjust Placement if needed. Double-click Placement to return to Original.

**How do I get an update?**

When a new version is ready, we will email you and place the download in My Account.
