Sign in to [My Account](https://spinzcz.com/my) with the email used for your purchase. Open AutoRes and download the installer for your computer. Close your DAW before installing. **Unsigned Early Access release.** AutoRes installers are not signed by a verified publisher; the Mac installer is not notarized. Your operating system may ask for an extra confirmation. Only proceed with the exact download from My Account. Keep your computer’s security protection enabled. #### On a Mac 1. Open the downloaded DMG, then open the AutoRes installer inside it. 2. Read the introduction and license, then continue through the installer. Enter your Mac administrator password if macOS asks. 3. If macOS blocks the installer, review System Settings → Privacy & Security. Use Open Anyway only for the AutoRes installer you just downloaded. Do not disable Gatekeeper. 4. Reopen your DAW and rescan plugins if necessary. Choose AutoRes as an AU or VST3 effect on an audio track. #### On Windows 1. Run the AutoRes Setup EXE from My Account. Windows may identify it as an unknown publisher. 2. If SmartScreen appears, verify the file’s source before choosing More info → Run anyway, where available. Do not turn off SmartScreen or antivirus protection. 3. Follow the installer steps, then reopen your DAW and run its VST3 rescan. 4. Add AutoRes as a VST3 audio effect. It is not a standalone music player. 02 / Make it yours ### Paste your personal serial. 1. In My Account, open your AutoRes purchase and choose Copy key. AutoRes keys begin with **ARS1-**. 2. Open AutoRes in your DAW. Choose the paste-and-activate action on its activation screen. 3. Keep the internet connected until activation succeeds. Once active, you can begin your scan. Activation is specific to AutoRes. A PushBack serial will not unlock it. Before activation, the commercial plugin outputs silence. One personal license supports up to five installations. The signed activation receipt permits offline use for up to 365 days. Reconnect to renew when prompted. Contact support if you replace a computer or reach your installation limit. 03 / Find your starting point ### Scan. Apply. Listen. 1. Put AutoRes on a track or bus with a ringing note, sharp edge or resonance you want to control. 2. Play a representative section and choose **Scan**. Keep audio playing for the six-second scan. 3. When the profile is ready, choose **Apply AutoRes**. The upper trace now shows dynamic reduction as the sound plays. 4. Start with Strength at **100%**, Width at **1×** and Output Gain at **0 dB**. Adjust gently while listening. 5. Match the output level and compare with Bypass. Use Delta to hear what is being removed. Rescan when you change the source. Your current correction stays active during a rescan until you apply a new profile. A scan can find no clear target; try another representative section, or leave that sound uncorrected. ![AutoRes after applying a learned profile, showing live reduction and its three controls](https://spinzcz.com/assets/autores/workspace.png) 04 / Shape the result ### Stay in control. #### Strength Sets how strongly AutoRes applies the learned correction. The range is 0–1000%; 100% is the normal starting point. Stronger settings can noticeably reshape the tone, so compare with Bypass as you turn it up. #### Width Changes how much space each detected band covers. Below 1× is narrower; above 1× is wider. The available range is 0.25–4×. It changes the width of the existing targets, not the frequencies selected by the scan. #### Output Gain Adjusts the listening level from −18 to +12 dB. Use it to make a fair comparison. Watch your DAW’s meters and leave headroom. #### Delta and Bypass Delta plays the difference removed by the correction. It ignores Output Gain so you can focus on the removed sound. Turn Delta off before judging or exporting the full result. Bypass plays the time-aligned original and ignores the correction, Delta and Output Gain. #### The spectrum The upper display shows the actual downward reduction. The lower display shows a slow, averaged view of the output spectrum. The reduction settles when playback stops; a flat trace does not necessarily mean the plugin is broken. Check that a profile is applied, audio is playing and Strength is above zero. 05 / Keep the session moving ### A little help, when needed. **AU still looks like the previous version** Save your session and fully quit the DAW before installing the update. Reopen it after installation, then use its plugin rescan. A DAW can retain an older loaded AU until it closes. Check for a manually installed per-user copy if the old UI persists; the official installer uses the system plugin locations. Don’t delete your entire Audio Unit cache or other plugins. Contact support for a targeted check. **No sound comes through** Confirm activation completed. Before activation AutoRes is silent. After activation, turn Delta off, set Output Gain to 0 dB, and compare with Bypass. Also check the DAW’s routing, track mute and plugin power state. **The scan finds no resonance** Ensure the track is playing throughout the six-second scan. Use a representative section at a useful level. If no resonance stands out, AutoRes can leave the signal uncorrected; it does not need to cut every source. **The display looks flat after Apply** Play audio through AutoRes, turn Bypass off and ensure Strength is above zero. The upper trace shows the cut actually happening, not a fixed illustration. Quiet passages or audio that does not excite the learned targets can show little reduction. **My serial will not activate** Copy the complete ARS1 serial from the AutoRes purchase in My Account. Use a working internet connection and check your computer’s clock. If the installation limit is reached or your purchase is missing, contact support with your order number. Never post your serial publicly. **I hear delay or crackles** AutoRes is intended for mixing and adds roughly 43–46 ms of processing latency at 44.1/48 kHz. Enable your host’s plugin delay compensation. If your system struggles, raise the audio buffer and try 44.1 or 48 kHz. Very high sample rates with very small buffers are not recommended. Physical Windows DAW testing remains pending. | Your next session ### Updates and uninstalling. Get current installers from My Account. Close your DAW first, install the update and reopen the host. Keep a backup of important sessions before updating. On Windows, use the AutoRes uninstaller in Settings → Apps. On Mac, close your DAW and remove only the AutoRes AU and VST3 bundles from your system plugin folders. Leave other plugins and your session files alone. **Advanced: file locations and verification** macOS: `/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/AutoRes.component` and `/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/AutoRes.vst3`. Windows: `C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\AutoRes.vst3`. My Account’s Order and file details lists each release’s version, filename information and SHA-256 checksum.
