What I can do is get the facts right, cite them, and tell you plainly where LANDR is the better buy. So here are the rules I set myself. Every LANDR fact below comes from LANDR’s own pricing pages and support documentation, checked in September 2026, and linked so you can verify it. Where LANDR does not publish something, I say that rather than guessing. I have not tested their audio quality against mine and I am not going to tell you mine sounds better, because you would have no reason to believe me and I have no way to prove it. What follows is what each one costs and does. The sound is for your ears. ### What each one costs The first thing to understand is that these are not the same product shape. No numeric figure published. | About a minute, in your browser. | Two things to flag on that table, both in LANDR’s favour. Their track length limit is far more generous than mine, so if you are mastering a DJ mix or a long ambient piece, mine will simply refuse it. And their tiering gives you a genuine free preview of the full feature set, where mine gives you two complete masters and then stops. ### Where your audio goes This is the real difference between the two, and it is a design decision rather than a feature. LANDR is a cloud service. Their documentation is direct about it: when you upload a file to LANDR it is stored in their cloud straight away, whether you master it or not. Their privacy policy also states that uploaded music is used to improve the performance of their mastering algorithm and music engine, while confirming that you keep ownership, copyright and publishing rights. They do not publish a retention period. SpinZ CZ Master processes the original in your browser. The audio is not uploaded to be mastered. That is why the free tier needs only an email and no card, and it is why there is no retention policy to read: for the processing itself there is nothing held. Whether that matters is genuinely up to you. Plenty of professionals upload unreleased work to cloud services every day without a second thought. If you are working on something under an agreement, or you simply do not want your unreleased audio sitting on someone else’s server being used to improve their model, it matters a lot. **Being fair to LANDR here:** using uploads to improve a mastering algorithm is not the same as training a generative model on your song, and their terms keep that broader training licence to a separate programme you have to opt into. ### When LANDR is the better choice Straightforwardly, these cases. - **You need distribution too.** Mastering plus distribution in one subscription is a real convenience, and buying them separately usually costs more. - **You want the samples and plugins.** If you would actually use them, the bundle is good value. - **Your tracks are long.** Anything over ten minutes is outside what my tool accepts. - **You want to try everything before paying.** Unlimited previews let you audition the whole feature set, where my free allowance gives you 2 free trials shared across all online tools. - **You want a one-off purchase.** $10 for a single master with no subscription is a sensible option that I do not offer at all. Their documentation states that files are stored in their cloud as soon as they are uploaded, whether or not you master them.
